How it is cut
We shape this floor cover from flexible silicone with an open grid across the top. It pushes down over your standard metal register and hugs the outer rim. The open grid lets room air move through freely while narrowing the gaps across the metal slats.
Flexible silicone body
The body is molded from a single piece of pliable silicone that bends during placement and settles flat over the floor register. It creates a soft barrier over sharp metal corners and edges.
Narrow top grid
We formed the top panel with a pattern of small air holes rather than wide open slats. Air moves up from the duct while small toys and household items stay on the floor surface.
Deep outer lip
A deep rim drops down around the perimeter to wrap the outer edges of the metal plate. The silicone grips the sides of the register so the piece stays seated without screws or adhesives.
Wipe and wash care
When dust gathers on the surface, lift the silicone frame off the floor and rinse it under running water in the sink. It wipes dry with a cloth and goes right back over the vent.
