How it is cut
We build this counter-height step stool on a folding steel A-frame. Two wide tread steps lead up to a standing platform enclosed by removable side rails and mesh netting. When baking or washing up is done, the frame hinges shut to slide between cabinets or flat against a wall.
Steel A-frame hinges
The main tubing locks into an A-frame stance over a wide rectangular footprint. When unlatched, the two steps fold parallel against the uprights so the entire frame stores flat against a cupboard side.
Mesh net enclosure
We sew a gray mesh surround that wraps the upper rails to enclose the standing platform. Fasteners let you take the mesh and top rail off entirely as your child needs more room to step up unassisted.
Two textured steps
The bottom step and upper standing deck are molded with raised surface texture across their full width. The top deck sits flush with standard kitchen counters and bathroom sinks for prep work and handwashing.
Wipe-clean gray coating
The steel frame carries a smooth gray finish that sheds water, spilled batter, and toothpaste. You can clean the tubing and both molded step surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap.
