How it is cut

We cut this sun shade with two distinct sections joined by a running zip. The upper extension uses coated double-layer cloth, while the side panels drop down in a fine open weave mesh. It ties across the frame at eight separate points so the cloth stays flat on the stroller.

Double layer cloth panel

We cut the upper canopy extension from coated double-layer fabric. It draws forward over the existing stroller canopy to extend the reach of the shade, then folds back when you loosen the ties.

Running zip connection

A full running zip connects the upper canopy cloth to the lower drop panel. You can separate the two halves by pulling the zip slide all the way across, leaving only the upper shade on the frame.

Open weave mesh sides

The lower drop panels are sewn from an open weave mesh with thousands of tiny holes. Air passes through the weave, and you can see through the black netting to the seat beneath.

Eight point tie fixings

We sew eight attachment points around the outer edge, using hook-and-loop strips and tie straps. The elastic edge stretches over the canopy ribs and ties down to the stroller frame tubes.
