How it is cut
We cut this canopy extender from UPF 50+ open weave cloth to pull over an existing stroller hood. The underside is printed with planets that light up when the sun hits the top. A semi-circular mesh window lets you see in, while an elastic hem and hooks fasten the piece along the frame.
Two panel construction
The top and bottom sections separate so you can use the piece as an overhead visor alone or extend the lower panel down over the footwell. Fastenings link the two sections together.
Underside print
Sun shining on the outer cloth reveals the planet pattern printed along the underside. The print sits on the inner face where it is visible from the seat without altering the weave of the outer surface.
Mesh peek window
A semi-circular panel of fine mesh is sewn into the main curve of the canopy. It gives an open line of sight into the seat without lifting the main cloth away from the stroller frame.
Hem and storage bag
An elasticized edge, buckles, and hooks hold the cloth tensioned against the frame tubing. The whole shade folds flat into its matching storage sack when you unhook it for packing.
