How it is cut
We sew this cover to draw over the rim of an infant carrier from the top, using a deep elastic hem that sits under the outer shell. The back remains open so nothing sits behind the harness. The front opens through a long zip, and a second flap folds back to leave a mesh panel across the view.
Elastic hem and base
A continuous channel of elastic runs the entire outer hem. It pulls over the carrier rim and seats itself underneath, while two adjustable nylon buckle straps hold the skirt close against the sides.
Three layer front panel
The outer shell uses a dark gray cationic cloth that sheds water and wind. Inside, we quilt a layer of resin cotton fill directly to the soft crystal velvet lining for unshifting loft.
Mesh and fold flap
A mesh window sits over the middle opening for air movement. A solid top flap folds down over the mesh when the weather turns, held fast at the corners with hook and loop tabs.
Long front zip
The central zip travels from the top edge all the way down to the foot area. You open the front panel wide to seat a child without pulling the cover off the carrier rim.
