How it is cut
This cover pulls over the carrier like a shower cap, resting around the outer rim rather than under the harness. The front panel unzips down the middle when you want to lift the child out, and the outer pongee shell sheds wind, rain, and snow. Inside, a short plush lining adds loft throughout the body.
Elastic rim cut
The bottom edge uses an encased elastic band that grips the outer plastic lip of the carrier. It stretches to pull on over the top handle and snaps back around the base without catching on the harness behind the seat.
Front zip opening
A central zipper runs the length of the top panel so you can open the cover wide without pulling it off the seat. You fold the sides back to place the child straight into the straps without tugging on the hem.
Pongee outer cloth
We use a dense pongee face fabric certified to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 to stop wind and shed light moisture. Paired with the soft short plush interior, the layers hold their loft across the entire front panel.
Folding and machine washing
The entire cover folds flat into a diaper bag or underseat basket when not pulled over the seat. When slush or mud gets onto the black shell, wash it in a cold machine cycle and hang it to dry.
