How it is cut
We cut this cover to slip over the outer shell of an infant car seat or stroller carrier like a shower cap. The dark gray cationic outer sheds wind and water, while the inside is lined with plush velvet over resin cotton batting. A long front zip lets you reach inside without pulling the hem off the frame.
Elastic skirt and buckles
The bottom hem runs on continuous elastic that pulls over the rim of the carrier. Adjustable nylon buckles fasten around the base so the cloth stays seated over the frame when you lift the handle.
Front zipper and flap
A center zip runs the length of the front panel. You can open it partway to check inside, or roll the panel back so the carrier stays dressed while you lift your child in and out.
Side mesh panels
We sew open weave nylon mesh along both sides of the main canopy. These panels stay open beneath the outer shell to let air move through the cabin when the front zip is closed.
Washing and care
The outer cloth and batting hold their loft after washing. Run the whole cover through a gentle cold machine cycle or wash it by hand, then hang it flat to dry before the next outing.
