How it is cut
We cut this cover to pull over the outer shell of an infant seat like a shower cap. The outer face is a light gray cationic cloth backed with resin cotton fill, and the lining is a soft velvet. A long front zip lets you reach inside without pulling the cover off the carrier rim.
Elastic skirt and straps
The bottom edge carries an elastic cord that draws around the rim of the carrier. Nylon buckle straps hook around the frame so the cloth stays seated when you lift the handle.
Double front zip
The front panel opens with a zipper running down both sides. You can pull the flap halfway back to check inside, or drop it open so the carrier stays dressed while you lift the child out.
Side mesh vents
We set open weave mesh windows into both side panels. Air moves through the knit while the cationic outer cloth covers the top and front of the seat against rain and wind.
Washing the layers
The velvet lining and resin cotton batting are stitched flat to the shell so the fill does not bunch. You can run the whole cover through a gentle machine cycle in cold water and hang it to dry.
